  • My partner and I will be in Miami for a short time and are looking for some recommendations on what to do and where to eat?

We will be arriving around 9am on Monday 23rd September and will be leaving around 6pm the next day. We will be staying at The Marlin hotel and do not have a car.

    Thanks in advance

  • We had a couple of days in Miami before travelling up to Orlando. We did a sunrise Segway tour with Bike & Roll which was excellent. Began at 8am so perfect for the early morning start, and lasted 90 minutes so was done before the heat became too much. We also did the Adrenaline Junkie Jetboat tour from the marina which was great fun. Both were on Groupon which saved loads of money. You could do them both in a day. Uber is your friend for getting around . The Segway tour was Miami Beach, the boat tour was downtown Miami
    All over for another year...

  • We were there a few weeks ago, can definitely recommend Big Pink, for anytime of the day. We did a boat ride from Biscayne Market place, the Thriller it was good fun and decent value for money. We walked most of south beach, and just took it all in, but there’s also a free trolley bus service that’s a good way to hop on and off to take a bit more of the area in.

  • We have just got back from there. Would recommend Big Pink and 11th St Diner. We just loved walking along Ocean Drive and enjoying the sights, do this about 4 and you will be able to get a cocktail without remortgaging! Also walk along Collins Ave and enjoy the Art Deco. We had lots of plans to go to Little Havana, Wynwood Walls etc but as it was so hot and the traffic wasn’t great we just chilled and enjoyed the Miami Vibe instead of rushing about.

We stay on Collins in the Marlin, love it & Art Deco, we tried 11th St Diner as was on next corner, it was good, might have a walk to the Big Pink in a few weeks

  • We had a few days there last week. We walked along Collins Ave and Ocean Drive - love all the Art Deco buildings. If we hadn't had kids with us, I think DH and I would have had lunch at the Villa (Versace Mansion) just to see inside.

Yes, 3-7 is happy hour on Ocean Drive for 2-4-1 massive cocktails!

South Pointe pier is nice for a walk and great views of Fisher Island, Docker Island (where the cruise ships are) and Downtown Miami.

The beach is lovely but avoid the afternoon because the storms are worse than Orlando and if you get rained off - you've wasted your sunbed/brolley money.

We liked Espanola Way for independent Italian/Spanish/Mexican food.

The independent restaurants don't do refills on sodas.

All the sightseeing areas are a way apart so you need transport - bus or Uber.

Wynward walls was great but not as big as I expected.

Bayside is nice for bars, shops, and restaurants but not very big. Nice boats to look at in the dock.

The Sugar Factory inside the Hotel Victor on Ocean Drive does fab milkshakes if you have kids!
    Potential trip back!
