I am a bit confused by the ending, though. Did they split up (again) or not? I wasn't sure if they were going to wait for one another or not 🤦
I don't think they agreed either way. Although, I also watched all episodes in one evening whilst drinking wine. I was emotionally exhausted by the end!

It was an adaptation of a book by the same name. I've bought a copy for my Kindle so I'll see how the book finishes.

I binged all the episodes over 24 hours and absolutely loved them all. Cried on at least 4 occasions. Found some scenes heartbreaking. Their miscommunication drove me mad at points but was also very believable because of the issues each character had. Absolutely fell in love with Connel.

Think how much you get from Normal People could depend on whether you found it portrayed situations and feelings from your own life.

I found it incredibly real.

Another positive was the quietness, with carefully placed well chosen songs.

I know I'm late to this but just binged watched over the last 2 days. I have also recently read the book and the ending is even more ambiguous.

It was a great adaptation and really captured the miscommunication around lack of self belief and mental health issues.

Anybody who enjoyed Normal People might be interested in Looking For Alaska.

It's available on BBC iPlayer.

(Haven't watched it but it's being talked about at work. )
