Mobile Hidden disabilities Blue Badge

Hi just wondered if anyone had got their blue badge through under the new ‘hidden disabilities’ legislation please?
I applied on the day it became available but my council has told me they are still awaiting “confirmation of the guidelines” ... just wondering is this delay nation wide or just with my council please (I did this ask but they didn’t answer)
Thanks in advance

Yes my son received his last week. The council wrote to my son’s specialist first. It won’t get used often as he never leaves the house anymore but when we do it will be fantastic for us.

My husband has just been successful in obtaining his badge. It took soon time to provide all of the information. He suffers with Chronic Fatigue and cannot walk very far.Having the badge now makes it easier to access our local Costa.Which we seem to visit very frequently.

My DD, who is autistic and learning disabled, got hers. We applied for it on the 6 September 2019 and it was approved on the 22 September 2019. I submitted all the information online via .gov and not the councils own site.

I did mine through the gov website too -for my son (ASD & learning disabilities) however , it’s stuck with Peterborough city council who are sitting on all of them since end of August!
So annoying as it would be a huge help for my son 😡

My cousin is trying to do this for her son, from what she’s found out the councils have guidelines but it’s up to each council how they interpret those guidelines. We both feel opening up the blue badge scheme to hidden disabilities is a little deceiving in that whilst those with hidden disabilities can now apply it doesn’t mean they will be successful, it seems to me you can now apply (ie hidden disabilities now meet criteria to ‘apply’) but we are hearing of more delays/rejections than successful applications. Something else we’ve heard is that council car parks (and non council car parks) were advised to increase the number of blue badge spaces, very few have done this, thus not enough spaces for blue badge holders. This is in Surrey.

We got our rejection just before we went away. apparently because we are responsible, and stop him from endangering himself or others we had ours rejected. apparently if you put things in place to prevent this, you can't get a badge.
