Tax free weekend

So i've just worked out that we will be in Florida for tax free weekend. Want to take advantage of this but wondering how busy it's going you be. Also where can I get some coupons to really boost my savings. Does anyone know if Disney also take part in tax free weekend. Any help would be useful

Thanks x

They haven't announced what's going to be covered for tax free weekend yet. It's got to be less and less over the last few years. Most things at Disney have never qualified. It's supposed to be for back to school supplies. Highest local tax is only 7.5% anyway, it's not exactly a bonanza.

We are think a couple of pairs of trainers each (there's 4 of us) and some designer stuff that we don't usually buy. Wondering if it's worth waiting or just going on a normal day when it will probably be quieter. But 7.5% doesn't seem much to save lol x

Last year anything costing over $50 was NOT tax exempt. So most designed goods are out, and name brand trainers were also out. It's not the first $50 that's exempt either, if the cost was more than $50 it didn't qualify.

It was never designed as a tourist perk, it's supposed to help the less affluent to send their kids to school with what they need.

Do they have to pay tax on children's clothes in USA? As I know we don't here in the UK. X

The theme parks are exempt, so you will still pay taxes on your purchases during that period.

It depends on the state you are in. In my (former) home state, the answer to your question in no. Here in FL, the answer is yes.

Looks like Osceola now has 7.5% in sales tax. Orange 6.50%
Seminole (where I live), Lake and Polk 7.00%
tax-rates/florida/sales-tax-holidays
This summer they will post a detailed list of items that are a part of the holiday. I usually like to buy a new pair of shoes or undergarments during this time.
