Wilderness Lodge - Kenwood

Just something baffling me...

We're a family of 5, so WL doesn't normally come up with "normal" rooms in Disney accom searches for us.

However, when I do a search on Kenwood Travel, WL comes up as an option and is about £1k cheaper than Beach Club.

How are Kenwood able to offer to sell me a room at WL for 5 people? Are they somehow using the DVC studios and selling for cash or something, as I believe they are 5 bedded?

Don't some of the newer refurbished rooms have two twin beds and a fold down murphy bed under the tv ?

They could be DVC rooms - you can find them through various travel agents.

Well, that's what I was thinking. The problem I see with that is that they then wouldn't offer free dining if it was officially a DVC room.

I've emailed them to ask, but no answer yet.

they have some rooms there that sleep 6, they had an additional lounge area with a double sofa bed, then a room with 2 doubles ( or whatever the usual size is ) Maybe that is what its giving you? we are a family of 6 and when I search on the disney website this comes up for us. but theres only 1 bathroom so its not ideal for us, with 2 adults, 2 older teens and 2 children. I don't think its a DVC room, have a look on the disney website

It'd be great if it was as it'd be ridiculously cheap compared to Disney! It's just over £4k, which is pretty much the same price as a standard studio.

I got a reply from Kenwood and all they said is that room allocation changes year on year and they'd keep my details on file and come back to me with a quote once free dining is released... I guess I just have to wait!

If the price was right and free DDP was included I'd be tempted to choose WL instead of BC.

I really wanted to stay at BC next time, but because there are 6 of us, its totally out of our price range!

I am very tempted by WL too, esp as so close to MK , but if only they had an extra shower !

Accommodation is always frustrating as a 5 so I can only imagine what that's like as 6!

BC's price has jumped so much (as well as the other resorts - but +£1k for BC compared to last year...) I'm struggling to justify it. We've stayed at OKW the last 2 times, but really fancy a change for next year, and normally BC works out about £300-400 more than a 1 bed at OKW.
