disneyland - how long to arrive before opening?
what time would you arrive to be through the gates for opening?
expecting this to be different from MK where we allow ourselves loads of time to watch opening show/monorail delayed etc as its a walk from our hotel. 8am opening = arrive at 7:30 sound about right? |

If you want to be on Main Street at rope drop, I would give myself a little extra time to arrive...and try to be in a parking lot by 7-7:15 am (if it opened at 8). Depending on where you park, you'll either have to wait for a parking lot tram (if you park in Mickey & Friends parking structure)... or if you park in the off-site lot, the Toy Story one, you'll have to wait for a Disney bus to get to the parks. Then you'll have to go through bag check before you can get in line to either get your tickets (if you don't have them already), or to get in line at the entrance gates.
If you're staying at a hotel within walking distance of the parks, then you'll only have to deal with going through bag check, so it should be fine to arrive about a half hour before opening.

We stop in walking distance , last year we got there about 30'mins before opening and there was a long queue.
Park must have been open 15 mins before we got in , but it was the only queue we had as once inside the parks were really quiet . |
