Which Disney park instead of MK?
We are a couple in our 50s and not, to be perfectly honest, much into Disney. Sometimes we have a day at MK but often don't visit Disney at all. We were discussing our September trip earlier and OH asked if we were going to MK this time. It started me thinking about trying another park again. We haven't been to Epcot in about 12 years, HS about 4 years (maybe more), I have never been to AK (OH has about 10 years ago, he took his mum and two of my daughters but the oldest was poorly so I stayed behind at the villa with her). When we go to MK now, we tend to arrive mid afternoon, go on a couple of rides, wander around, eat dinner and see Wishes. That's about enough Disney for me. OH is taking his mum in May but I'm not joining them, they will go to MK and HS while they're there. So, what other park would you recommend for a change? None of my daughter's holiday with us now so it's just the two of us.

You can't beat a walk around Epcot with a drink or a nibble in each country.

I confess, I'm leaning towards Epcot. I don't think we really saw as much as we could have last time we were there and we didn't do any rides. Has much changed in the last 12 years? I remember having a wonderful Chinese meal there.

What do you normally do apart from Disney? If animal exhibits are of any appeal to you, AK is excellent and thoroughly recommended, even without the few rides it offers. If you can take or leave them then perhaps Epcot - DHS would be arguably better revisited when they've finished the new areas.

We prefer Universal. We visit both parks at least twice. Also, Seaworld and Busch Gardens plus a water park day (previously Aquatica or Wet n Wild, though not the latter anymore of course). We'll likely try Volcano Bay in September. Other than that we do some shopping, Boggy Creek Airboats or a helicopter ride. It depends on how the mood takes us.

If you like the other theme parks in Orlando I can't see why you wouldn't like the other Disney parks. They all have rides and attractions, themed areas, places to eat, shows, etc. In fact, if you're not that into rides, Disney in better for the other things. You'll find the other Disney parks are less ride-orientated compared to Magic Kingdom.
If you like animals then Animal Kingdom is a good one to go to. It's a bit like a zoo. I'd recommend going on the safari which takes you around the safari park in a big truck. The animal paths are good to walk around too. Epcot would also be a good choice. There are some great rides that aren't too thrilling (eg. Soarin' and Spaceship Earth). Wandering around the World Showcase, looking in all the shops, seeing the small street performers. Make sure youstay for a meal in World Showcase and see the fireworks at the end of the day.

Epcot World Showcase for me (i'm 51). I could spend a week there! I find it magical and romantic and more like a playground for grown ups!
