Grand Canyon south rim excursions

Can anyone recommend any Grand Canyon excursions on the South Rim. We are going to be staying in Tusayan and are a family with 11 and 9 year old girls and a 78 year old. My Dad (78) wants to do a mule ride however I am not sure how fit you need to be.

I would highly recommend Grand Adventures for a south rim tour. The sunset tour is amazing. Quite a long day but it's totally worth it. Breakfast and lunch included as well as stops at Route 66.
