Talk to me about beach and yacht club...
Hi
Just weighing up the options for when DDP is released for next year. I've stayed at POFQ twice now, but I'd love to stay at either beach or yacht club if the prices work. Which is better, beach or yacht? What are the differences? There will be myself and DD (9) staying. If the price difference between POFQ and the above was £1,000 (after taking into consideration DDP and upgrading quick service), would you say it is worth the difference? Thanks

We stayed at the Beach Club and it was beautiful. That being said the two resorts flow into each other so it makes no difference which one really in my opinion. The Beach Club is slightly nearer Epcot if you are walking to it. The was great as you could be in and put of Epcot quickly. I think that both share the pool at Stormalong Bay but could be wrong?
We got upgraded to Club Level which was very nice. Location of them is good. A short bus or boat ride to the parks. I really liked this as it had transport tins and not just the bus. The Yachtmans Steakhouse is gorgeous but you can visit that regardless of where you stay. Both lovely hotels. We loved staying there. I've not stayed at Port Orleans but I think you would love the Beach Club. Having stayed at The Grand Floridian last year, I think I prefer The Beach Club. |

Thanks for your reply The close proximity to Epcot is certainly a pull. You make it sound lovely, thanks

Having walked past them during our recent trip, they probably are the most convenient, I would certainly consider them if I could afford it. Boat or Walk to both Epcot and Studios, and Monorail from Epcot to MK. So could do 3 out of 4 parks without a car or Disney bus!

We're (hopefully) choosing YC over BC purely because of the guaranteed balcony. We're travelling with kids so it'd be lovely to be able to sit out with a nice glass of something cool in the evening if they have an early night!

I've stayed at both and staying at the Beach club again in October, we slightly prefer the beach club as it's closer to Epcot and prefer the decor of the rooms. We've never stayed at a moderate so can't compare but for us the extra ££££ is totally worth it. 😉

Ooh I'd love a balcony. I didn't realise they were guaranteed with YC. I must admit, that in itself would probably swing it for me 😊 Thanks for your reply 👍

we stayed in the YC last year, we were originally booked in BC but moved to YC as the full balcony is guaranteed there and about half of the rooms at the YC have a juliette balcony.
We loved having a glass of wine on the balcony after a long day in the parks. I also personally preferred the peacefulness of the YC over the BC, it is not much further to walk to epcot, literally a couple of minutes. Another thing to note is that a lot of the garden view rooms have oblique water views, it was great to be able to view the epcot fireworks from the balcony of our garden view room. This was the view from our Garden room balcony as an example. |

We are fans of the YC, fourth stay this year purely because we can sit on the balcony whilst the kids reboot in the beds and watch the Epcot fireworks, BUT the best benefit for us as on the DDDP we can go to Boardwalk, Epcot, HS and Hotel really, really easily so the choice of signature restaurants increases (our brood are 15, 9, 9) and they love it - the BC is also great, if a slightly more noiseier IMHO where the YC appears more refined... horses for courses really, both excellent. One thing to consider, the buses go to the YC first
