When I first read this I thought they were building a whole new park. I'd no idea how big 14 acres was. A quick Google tells me it's only 250m X 250m which doesn't even sound as big as HP in Universal.

Not trying to put it down, it's great news. But I really was expecting a 5th Disney park for Orlando.

I understand that the WWoHP is approx 20 acres. This I believe includes the area of Dragons Challenge. Gives you an idea of what this size is going to be.

Couldn't ever see a whole park being dedicated to Star Wars in WDW.

Disney said in August 2014 that the Star Wars weekends would happen "early summer" for 2015. They took place in May/June so I'm hoping that's still the case when they say summer 2016 and in the future. I guess it depends on the definition of what spring/summer is! I've set my hopes on going again in May 2017.

I can understand the euphoria over Star Wars but an opening date would have been the cherry on then cake. If we go by Disney's current building scale I think we are looking at 2020 at the earliest.
I'm still grappling with where they are going to find 12 acres at Disneyland in Anaheim.

As for Toy Story Land- well it brings a coaster but on what scale considering kids will be a larger factor in this? Could they not have come up with something a bit more up to date rather than riding on the tail coats of TS4?

I really hope Star Wars weekends happen in the Summer. We have been lucky enough to be there twice for these but am now tied to Summer holidays so would be great to see it again as it was a wonderful experience

Would love the Star Wars weekend to be in July as my husband must be one of the biggest Star Wars fans about, and is constantly talking about Star Wars and the new films and even watches Star Wars rebels on Disney xd with the kids. He can't wait till the new Star Wars land is open he's already wishing his life away.
