So disappointed in Joffrey's closing. Love that coffee and pastry pick me up when I needed it in Hollywood Studios. Starbucks just doesn't cut it!

I'm not expecting it to be finished by 2019 at the earliest, going on how long it took Disney to finish New Fantasyland and Avatarland.
Anything sooner will be a bonus.
Is there an Avatar land?

Not yet, but it's being built at animal kingdom. Late 2017/early 2018 is the date for that I believe.

The one at Disney's California Adventure is SO popular.

Whilst the Star Wars expansion will be brilliant even for those of us who are not devotees, it's wrong that so much has to close or be suspended for so long. They should greatly reduce the price of admission at DHS until it warrants full whack.
Totally agree Geoff ,people save long and hard to visit.

My son will be gutted about not seeing Phineas and Ferb...do you think they may relocate them somewhere else?

I know changes have to be made, but I am so disappointed in Disney making all these changes at the same time. When we go in October this park will not warrant a full day 🙁

Now, I realise that we're yet to see the full extent of the closures at DHS to make way for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land but, up to now, there hasn't actually been *that* much closed because of these future additions.

The first post lists a couple of character meet'n'greets plus a couple of kiosks that have now closed. In addition, it's fairly clear that the Backlot Tour was closed to make way for these new lands.

The Magic of Animation building has been swapped for the Star Wars Launch Bay. American Idol has been swapped for the Frozen Sing-Along. Sounds Dangerous and the Jack Sparrow thing closed (no great loss) and instead they opened Club Disney (which isn't much of a gain either). And remember that One Man's Dream is still open despite the rumours.

So, other than one ride and a couple of character meets, there's as much at DHS as there's always been. It's just that there's never been that much at DHS - hence why it's already cheaper for a one day ticket to DHS than to MK.

Absolutely gutted if Mater and Lightning aren't there! Really hope they will have moved them to another place!

Very well said, I was thinking the same but didn't feel like writing it all out!

Other than the Backstage Tour, alot of things have CHANGED rather than just closed.

My DD loved Club Disney but she is a 9 year old dancer and I agree it isn't for everyone.

HS definitely needed more attractions and isn't surrounded by loads of empty land. I think the changes will be worth it and we still enjoyed our visits this year.

PS there is another Joffery's kiosk by Toy Story Mania anyway.

Can't believe Avatar land is taking so long. It's one of the reasons why we were going to return in 2017 but because they're so behind with it, it's gonna warrant another trip!
