Lake Tahoe and Reno advice
Hi
We are researching 2020 august holiday and really like the look of Lake Tahoe. We have been to San Fran before but would like to spend a few days there too. So we are thinking fly in and out of San Fran. A few nights in San Fran, then some time in Lake Tahoe and possibly a visit to Reno(only if its worth it). Anyone been before and can offer advice? Questions I need help with: How long ideally do you need for Lake Tahoe? We want it to be leisurely and not whistle stop. Any accommodation recommendations please. Also, hubby interested in Reno(instead of revisiting Vegas) Is it worth a visit or is it tackier than Vegas lol. Any comments welcomed- thank you ETA: 2 adults and our 18 year old daughter.

I last went to Reno in 1997 and have been to Vegas 20 plus time since and for me there is a good reason for this. I like Fremont street and that is what I 8magined Reno to be like and it is sort of but dirtier, more round down and sleazy it’s not just tacky or at least that way not my view. Lots of pawn shops etc.
Tahoe is great be sure to visit the Thunderbird lodge I think that this is where we stayed (10 years ago) on our honeymoon it was fantastic tahoelakeshorelodge |

In Reno we stayed at the Reno Hilton which was a drive away from the casino area, the hotel was great in its basement it had a massive amusement area and at weekends and evenings you got metal dector scanned to go down there !
Don’t get me wrong I never felt unsafe or threatened in Reno and have only had a couple of unsavoury instances in the USA but never in Nevada Edited at 11:14 PM. |
