Everything you always wanted to know about the Disney Turkey Leg
There are many things that spring to mind when you think of Disney icons and memories for the theme parks and one of them is the great 'Disney' Turkey Leg.
What are they made of? Over the years there have been many rumours/suggestions of what this hunk of meat is actually made from, including 'Thor' actor Zachary Levi saying that they are actually Emu legs! Well believe it or not they are actually 'Turkey' Legs. How are they so big? The usual turkey that we eat are normally female Turkey Hens whereas the Disney Turkey legs come from the male Turkey. Disney don't sell many Turkey Legs, right? according to Disney Parks Blog more than 1.6 Million Turkey Legs are sold by Disney each year in their Walt Disney World and Disneyland theme parks. That’s 2.5 million pounds of turkey! Where can I get a Turkey Leg at WDW? Magic Kingdom
What do they Cost? approximately $12 At least they are healthy, aren't they? Disney turkey leg nutrition facts:

I remember the first time I saw them we were standing in the queue for Fantasmic and this party of about 100 South American teenagers arrived at our backs and approx 50% of them were knawing away at these things, and the smell almost made me throw up 🤮

Absolutely revolting. Who in their right mind eats these things? Salty, smoky nastiness!

When my kids were little they used to love these! However, that was before I knew how many calories and how much fat and salt were in them ... (the legs, not the kids, obvs!)
I personally am not a big fan, and DH HATES the smell of them with a passion, but horses for courses and I'm sure there are lots of people who love them. Oh my - HORSES! THEY ARE HORSE LEGS!

They taste and smell more like a gammon or bacon joint. Even the meat colour is ham looking. Never liked them but my lads love them.
