Travel Day 1 - Are We Really Doing This?

A rather early start but wanted to make the most of travel day!

A few tears saying goodbye this morning. First time taking a vacation without the kids and despite the jesting am going to miss them heaps.

Flight was delayed by about 30 mins but once we took off was lovely and smooth.

Clouds looked like snow!

By the time we had landed and walked what seemed like miles to get to the baggage reclaim our suitcases were already going around so we grabbed them and were on our way...

Used the National Express to get from Gatwick to Heathrow. Was very efficient and very comfortable.

We checked in to the Premier Inn and then took a wander over to T3 to make sure we knew where we needed to go in the morning.

Cannot wait for tomorrow!

Grabbed a hot chocolate and a cake from Costa and headed into the city.

Had a bit of a wander and then headed to the Sky Garden. Love it here. We took the kids last time we were in London and wanted to come back. Spent a lovely hour or so enjoying the view with a drink. Vacation had most definitely started!

We then headed to Leicester Square via Oxford Circus so we could see the Christmas lights. Did the tourist thing and took some photos. Had a nice bite to eat in Bella Italia and then made our way back to the Premier Inn where we sorted out our clothes for the morning and settled down to watch I'm a Celebrity.

Loved the John Lewis window.
