Mobile Crete car hire and Europe insurance
Any recommendations for car hire in Crete? Also can I get excess insurance here or does it need to be through the hire company?

Yes, use autorentals-crete.gr/en/index.html
We used them last summer, great service, met at the airport with the car. The drop off point is just across the road from the terminal. Everything was included. It was a refreshing change from all the hassle you get from Spanish car hire!
