We also enjoyed the sea plane to the dry tortugas in November - wonderful day

Been to the Keys three times and can't wait to go again!

Key West - we'd recommend the West Winds Inn on Eaton Street. Easy walk to everything, amazing lush gardens with 2 pools, lovely free breakfast, free street parking just round the corner and a price that won't break the bank.

Marathon - we love the Seafarer to stay at. Little beach with pontoons and free kayaks, very clean and breakfast again with home-made muffins. Good base to go to John P Park, as others have said.

Don't miss the Turtle Hospital! Trip report below.

The Inn at Key West is a must it's superb. Rooms are beautiful and have patio doors going out to your own private garden area. Pool area is gorgeous with tiki bar and food. Bit expensive but we'll worth it x

We've booked a night at Amy Slate Amory Dive Resort in Key Largo on arrival (its a bit basic but its only for one night) then 3 nights at the Speakeasy Inn in Key West.

It gets fabulous reviews and I cannot wait to go there!

We had 3 night in Key West a couple of years ago, the plan was to visit different keys from there but we never left Key West, so much to see. We took a boat trip to snorkel on the barrier reef, what an experience, so beautiful - like swimming in a tropical fish tank. We also did the hop on hop off old trolley bus which gave discount into many attractions and transport for 2 days. Also fully recommend the Eco Discovery Center, its free and very informative.

We snorkelled from the beach at the Harry Harris Park - cost a few dollars to park, but it is worth it. We spent our last day of our holiday there, there's a pic at the end of the keys bit of my trippy.

ETA just realised that you've probably seen it already - I hadn't noticed the dates!
