Which is better for our first full day?!
As the title says - which park would be better for our first full day - Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure?
2 kids with us ages 11 & 7. Thanks! |

Either or from my point of view. I would probably do US as I find its easier to get around and get used to it.

depends what day / date it is. Use the busy day guide to see which park will be least busy.

Either, I came to your post assuming it would be disney vs universal, I'd always choose a universal park as there's no fast passes or restaurant reservations so it can be a lot more flexible as you'll likely get tired earlier when adjusting to the timezone.
Check the busy day guides on different sites to see if one is recommended over the other on the day you'll be visiting

Our first day (DS 9 and 6) is Weds 13/2 and decided to do IOA to Hogsmeade, get hogwarts over to Diagon, do the ride and area for abit, jump on ET.. one of my favs as a child on the way out and then back to the hotel to chill.
I'm targeting a 3-4pm finish before the Jetlag kicks in. |

I personally see the two universal parks as one in the same as they’re so close and smaller than Disney. We always tend to do both together, so why not get the best of both worlds!?

If sunny go to IOA, if it looks like rain go to US (it has a lot of indoor rides)
Both fabulous but I prefer IOA |

What time of year are you going. The Universal parks have very soak you through rides so if you need to make the most of any hot days I’d do water rides in a roaster.

If it’s quiet you can easily do both Universal in one day, use Hogwarts Express to move between the 2 parks to save time

We park hopped between the two Universal parks a lot on our 4 day stay there in 2017, I tend to see them as two parts of one big park. Maybe on your first day, you may feel doing just one will be less tiring but I don’t think it matters which you choose. I would check the busy day guide and go for the quieter one if I was picking one over the other
