So if you go to Vegas do you stay on the strip or not yes I know about the resort fee a ect but over all do you like to stay on the strip where you got everything with in touching distance . I been 2 times first staying I P although hotel not good where it was was brilliant. Second we stayed excalibur which was fine love been able to walk down the strip anytime day or night .

Last year we stayed in the desert rose. It is just behind the Tropicana and hooters and is a condo resort. We had a 1 bed apartment. It was really good for us. We didn’t use the pool or the bar but I think if you wanted to use these facilities it maybe wouldn’t be as good. There was not enough room at the pool and there was a q to get into it in the morning. It was maybe a 10 min walk to the strip which was fine.
We have been numerous times before so this time off strip worked for us. And I didn’t want to pay the resort or parking fees as we were booked there for 2 weeks.
The only other thing I didn’t like about it was how rude the timeshare people were when they realised we weren’t interested in them, but we give can give out the same as them.
Oh, and we had a car which was good for us.

Went in 1995 and stayed in Excalibur and 2004 and stayed Luxor, before the days of resort fees, and certainly the first time the strip hotels were actually cheaper than off strip with very cheap all you can eat buffets to keep you in their casinos. Looking to go again probably 2020 and stay in Venetian, but looks like things have changed a lot and restaurants have become a thing to do in their own right and a way of making money themselves rather than a cheap thing to get you in to spend at their casino. Also looks like the free shows have pretty much disappeared too.
Can’t imagine staying off strip though - We like to be in the heart of the action.

We like to stay on the Strip. We love to stay at the Bellagio. Well located for us and seems like the perfect spot in Vegas. I love the pool and hubby loves the casino.

We like to stay on the strip. I like just walking out of your hotel without driving or trying to park anywhere, then just strolling back to hotel for a bit of relaxation and maybe a couple of cocktails We too love Bellagio and are staying there in a couple of weeks. Would stay at most hotels on the strip but nowhere past Wynn. Some good deals at new Park MGM at the moment so going to give that a try as well.

In 2017, we stayed at a one bed suite at the Polo Towers. Although not directly on the strip, it was literally a two minute walk there to the Miracle Miles Shops, and within easy strolling distance of all the main hotels.

It was a slightly older hotel but with very large rooms and a fully equipped kitchen, which we used a couple of times for lunches, and every morning for breakfast.

Also noted that there was a Marriott Vacations resort directly behind us - not sure of proces and policies there, but if significantly cheaper than staying “on-strip”, well worth a look.

Also good that there were no parking fees when we visited.

Both the Marriott Grand Chateau, and Carriage House are as you say on Harmon a few minutes from the strip. Both have no resort fee and both have kitchens. Not tried Polo Towers but will do in the future.

We’ve done both many times

These days we stop off the strip at South Point suits us for a number of reasons but not least because we have a lot of friends there at the same time.

It’s not a problem we have a car and visit the strip a lot ,’parking isn’t a problem and there’s plenty of places where it’s still free like the Miracle Mile shops where we often park for 10-12 hrs daily with no issues
