First a big hug for you !
I'm going to assume that if on site was a viable option you'd have changed to that . I Drive is a good choice, lots of eating choices at better prices than in the parks, Universal, Seaworld. Free bus to Busch Gardens, Aquatica , Volcano Bay . Lyft and Uber are very cheap for hopping around . I'd think the split is going to be difficult for your boys so keeping the holiday is something to keep if they are old enough to be looking forward to it. You will cope , many single parent families go to Orlando every year ,including me . In fact just one adult along can be easier as you don't have to consider another adult's preferences I would strongly suggest you ringfence holiday spending money into an account only you have access to, many splits start off amicable over money and then get "less predictable" though ! It's a horrible time but you will get through it |

So sorry to hear of your situation- how stressful for you & your children when it’s supposed to be an exciting time. Regarding security in the parks (obviously depending on the ages of your children), could you write your mobile number on the inside of their magic band & tell them to see a CM if they become separated for any reason? Possibly provide a mobile for your eldest child, or agree a ‘meeting’ point if they’re older children who would be able to make their way back to a certain point in the park. Water park might be a bit trickier- if they are young then I’d reinforce before you go that you must stick together.
I hope you go & have a blast. In a few years you & your kids will have amazing memories to look back on. |

Same goes for spending money etc. |

wishes to you all.
IMHO you should go, as others have said is onsite viable? The children know and are probably confused etc a good way of distracting them. I am sure you will be able to manage. |

Well I don’t know how many emotions one person can go through in one day, and thanks to my Dibb family, I am know going through the F U stage, and as pussycat says, I’m gonna but my big girl pants on, and we are going. 😁
The boys will be 11 and 9 ( while we are there ) there is a chance my sister may be able to come, we are waiting on authorisation from her area manager, if they will let her take leave from work. The boys don’t know yet that we are separating, we are going to tell them on Friday after school. I’ve just realised with the help from you guys that he’s the one letting them down and disappointing them, and I can’t do that to them, I will be able to look them in their eyes and know I’ve done everything I can. And maybe not know, and maybe not on the holiday, but one day ( hopefully) they will appreciate what I did for them. And on DS2’s 9th birthday when we are swimming with the dolphins I’ll be able to look at him and know I did this. The money to pay the rest of the holiday off is there in the bank, DH won’t do anything with it, as he’s adement the boys are going on the holiday, he’s just also adement that he’s not going, and left me to deal with it. I will probably have to save up the spending money. I will look into the other hotel options on international drive and maybe staying at WDW but not sure if I can afford to do that. The TA has included all private transfers in the new holiday, I just have to get from CBR to HRH. However if my sister can come I’m not sure wether to stay with the villa, as she said she will drive. I have read most of NBL’s thread, and I’m so pleased I am a member of the dibb family. Sending virtual hugs and thanks to you all 😁. |
