Anyone stayed in the Nob Hill area or even at The Majestic Hotel, San Francisco?
Looking to cut down our costs as our holiday is becoming way more than we anticipated. Anyone have a review on the Majestic? Or the area of Nob Hill?
We are staying in San Francisco 4 nights near the end of may ...

Can’t help with specifics but my brother is cabin crew and they always stay in the Nob Hill area. He said it’s really nice and easy to get about. Would make a good base.
I’ve started looking into SF accommodation and considered Nob Hill too. |

Just be careful what room you check in to! It’s allegedly haunted.
atlasobscura/places/hotel-majestic I wouldn’t worry about being a little bit further out to save money. Uber is massive in the city, very reasonable too. I got so stressed looking for somewhere to stay in SF. It was by far the most expensive place to book on our road trip. I ended up booking Hotel Del Sol in Cow Hollow area. That area is even further away than Nob Hill and was still fine for getting around. I would look at Uber-ing rather than walking, the hills everywhere are a killer! |

Spooky !
Good to know, thanks. I've been looking for weeks at hotels, motels, airbnb and have become completely stressed ... it seems we have booked an expensive time of year for our 3 weeks trip.

Hi,
just investigating something similar and have narrowed down to 4 main areas: -
Union Square - Fashionable and high end Fisherman’s Wharf - Full on touristy The Embarcadero - Edge of Financial district so week days could be busy Marina District - Cheaper area - many motels have free car parking Still planning at the moment - nothing finalised yet.

An alternative is to stay in Oakland and get the subway in each day. Considerably cheaper that side of the bay.

Thanks
The offer price on the hotel went up before we could decide so still looking ... really wanted to stay near Fisherman's wharf, will keep an eye on prices for a week or so before booking. Someone else mentioned The Columbus Motor Inn as being a good choice. It's around £620 for 4 nights.
