Disney Free Dining 2020 and 35% discount

What were the date restrictions when people were offered the 35% discount after their free dining was cancelled. Was is only for new booking in 2020 or could it be used for 2021?

I believe it was only for the original booking dates - if you want to modify your booking to a new date you'll pay the full price. I accepted the 35% for my September trip but now my flights have been cancelled I've had to change my Disney booking to February 2021. No discount was offered but I do get to keep the $300 gift card.

I thought it was just for your original booking. It definitely wasn�t for 2021.

The discount was only for the existing booking.

If you kept your existing booking for the dates originally booked then you'd get a discount based on the loss of free dining for that trip. If you decided to change the dates then there was no discount - you booked at what the current advertised price was for that new date (minus the cost of your original booking, of course).

The 3 choices were:
1. Proceed with what was booked get discount
2. Modify/ change booking no discount but keep GC
3. Cancel & have any monies paid returned

In a nutshell the only option to keep the discount was to keep your existing booking but the end date on these options was the 27th June.
