I went round in circles with the Govt Gateway. I gave up in the end and like others also phoned. The bloke I spoke to was really helpful and I remember receiving a letter with details I’d when and how much I would receive.

The bus pass is great (we get it age 60 in Scotland). We have a great bus service in Edinburgh and it saves a lot of money. Good for day trips to Glasgow etc. No hassle driving and parking and it’s almost as quick as a car.

I find it really easy to use the gateway, being using it for ages. Can access my Electronic staff record from NHS now I’m retired from there as well as my tax record and pension record.

It is quite easy to set up a Personal Tax Account online, then each time young in you get a phone call with a code to enter.

I'm not sure how, they both use exactly the same data and exactly the same formula. So they will give the same outcome

We both drive and have a car each plus we are quite rural with very limited bus service so I wasn't going to waste my time getting a free bus pass but someone told me I could swap it for a senior rail card instead so contacted my local council and have enjoyed days out on the train, the rail card allows us to get a third off regular train fares.

Not sure this is correct. Why would it be more accurate?
