Thinking about summer 2022 - onsite options with 2 kids not sharing a bed
Hi all
I've not posted on here in a while because we weren't thinking of going back until 2023 at the earliest. However with having an entire year written off we want something to look forward to. So, assuming a)the world isn't still on fire in 2022 and b)free dining is still available for August bookings (we'd go to a villa if it wasn't).. What onsite options are there for 2a 2c if our boys don't share a bed. They'll be 15&13. I've seen Wilderness Lodge currently have bunks (we had bunks in AKL in 2017 and they'd be big enough). What about cabins/ suites - are there any that have previously qualified for free dining that aren't insanely expensive? IIRC Beach Club and Saratoga Springs do that kind of accommodation, is that right? Thanks |

Have you looked at the moderates? POR and CBR for example have the Murphy beds and sleep 5.

Thanks.
We stayed at (and adored) POFQ last year, having very nearly gone for POR. I believe that the Murphy beds are pretty short aren't they? The eldest is probably 5'5" already and his brother isn't far behind him. It's a good budget (in onsite terms) option, but I think they'd be pretty cramped. |

We stayed at the POFQ last year as well. We were in the same situation looking for rooms with 3 beds. They are not cheap especially if u want Free DDP. Options are extremely limited.
AOA - I think the suites only get Free QS if you are lucky. When you add the dining upgrade it becomes expensive. ASM - This has family suite you might get Free breakfast. FW - Some people like these cabins. I think you only get Free QS dining though. CBR/POR - have pull out beds but as said will be too small. WL - has bunk beds with Free DDP. The BC, Poly, YC, BW, GF and various others have 3 bed options and you will probably get free dining but will be EXPENSIVE. Edited at 01:31 PM. |

You can request a rollaway bed at some resorts, I know CSR have them available and you just need to request one but floor space would be tight but would save you a small fortune.

DVC- many studios have a murphy bed under the TV (BCV, BWV, BRV, POLY, some others I cannot remember), and 1 beds have sometimes an extra bed (BLT, AKL, SSR (remodel), OKW).
Of course no free dining, but renting points for a studio is cheaper.

It may not be an option, if you are wanting Disney onsite, but universal do 'kids suites' where they have a separate room for the kids with single beds for them. Not sure on cost as we are currently childless, so can't advise there ... but they do look cool for families with children.

OKW 1 beds , have a king sized in the bedroom, lounge has a single and a double sofa bed , which could work. I am not certain but i thought bunk rooms were being taken away !

With our two kids (17 and 10 right now) we either stay in an OKW 1-bed because, as you say, the lounge has 2 beds, and also affords considerably more space for everyone, or at the Beach Club which has two double beds and a daybed.
The daybed isn't huge, so it probably depends on the age/size of your smallest child who would be using it. |

Is OKW a DVC only property?
I love the location of Beach Club, but I worry its going to be hugely expensive. Looking at it now, there are loads of bed options at each room level - do I just ask for those if I book on the phone? Edited at 01:17 PM. Reason: add booking question |
