We have a large l-shaped boot room/utility. Utility side has tall cupboard for hoover and floor steamer., brushes etc. Worktop along the rest of the wall with a washer, a dryer and spare under counter freezer underneath. Double wall cupboard above for laundry products, bin bags, candles etc. I’ve got a bracket on the wall that holds the iron board folded up with the iron above it.
Boot room side has sink unit with hose type tap for washing the dogs and 3 cupboards underneath. Coat hooks and shoe stands too of course 😄

Think it might be worth getting one of those extending taps in the sink for the dog as she's very small - we wash her in the shower room but going forward it could be easier on our old backs

Thanks

I have the washing machine and dryer side by side under the worktop on one side. I have kitchen cupboards on the other, a double on the floor and 3 on the wall. There is room for a slim dishwasher ( full-size in kitchen though) and I also have the airing cupboard.
It leads into the large downstairs bathroom which is where the clothes horse is.
I want to put in a sink for all dirty stuff like paint trays and a tall cupboard for the hoover etc..
I have thought about a maiden but not sure if it would fit that well

Hi looking at the size 9.5 ft by 16. I would suggest units along one side and end wall , this will leave you room to actually work without being cramped . Room to put ironing board up or possibly make a built in one that folds out . For us one thing we could do with is another fridge for those barbecue days for some nice cold beers.

We love ours, probably the most used room in the house. We use ours for normal stuff already listed (Washer, dryer, sink etc...) but we also use it for our recharging stations for hand held Dyson, Karcher etc... we also have our microwave in their too. Keeps the kitchen nice and tidy.

Our utility room is at our back door. It's not a large room so we've had to try and squeeze everything in.

The door opens against a wall to the right, this is just a bare wall, not enough room to put anything up against it. As you come in, on the left is our boiler (floor standing), now we used to have a tumble dryer above this but I didn't use it much so DH put it in our garage. Directly next to the boiler I have a large american style fridge freezer. There's then a door on the left to the back door loo. Wall facing as you come in back door as an ingress? This houses my washing machine (sits flush with the wall). DH put shelves in above and a door and there's lots of stuff in there! Needs a clear out. Our ironing board slots in between the fridge freezer and boiler. DH got white glossy kitchen cabinets from Ikea which sit above the boiler then go along the top of the big fridge freezer for storage. The ones up high are just cabinets, store cereals, slow cookers, etc. The cabinets above the boiler house 2 pull out drawers in both. This is where I store cleaning materials in the bottom, bin liners etc.

We managed to utilise the whole room to the best we can, BUT I am only 5'4" and can barely reach to open the cabinets above the fridge freezer

My DD recently moved into a flat in Glasgow and bought a cloakroom storage thing from Ikea which I would love to get too. It's black metal and has pegs at the top, a sitting area at the bottom and you can buy baskets to store stuff in under but its too deep for our room, not enough space between the wall and f/freezer.

I'm hassling DH to build me an extension so I can have a decent size kitchen. I'm hoping that's our next project after the garden is finished.
