We have a portable one in DD's bedroom but it's not small and very noisy and needs a hose out the window. Would love something better.
Mine is a Panasonic but got it professionally fitted...

Same as MH posted but more powerful as living room is 21’ x 13’ did get a good deal on fitting, took 3 men a couple of hours...

You can buy split air con DIY units and I have tried them, and they worked okay until it was really hot like the weather we've been having and they didn't cope too well, so as they say you get what you pay for.

How does that work? No piping or anything?

I like the idea of this very much ...

To be honest I left them to it... there is a large fan on the outside wall, we’re a bungalow but it’s just on a side path so not in the way... all done via the remote control...we have ours set at 20 and turn it off and on as we need it...

Yes they are expensive and many people say noisy but I wouldn't be without mine and it gets used a lot in summer.
That one looks really good. How much per month would you say it adds to the electricity?

Before this I tried allsorts of fans, coolers and an air con unit that had a large pipe... but you needed to either put a hole in your wall or have the window wide open... it just blew out warm air...
The dogs will look up at the air con and then to DH when they’re getting warm so he’ll turn it on for them...

There are pipes and electrical cables required so they have drilled a hole immediately behind and brought everything to the outside compressor unit through the wall. This isn't always possible depending on the type of house and location of the indoor unit (flat, terraced, semi or detached).

My 13.5 year old cocker struggles with the heat so she spends a lot of time during the daytime in my mancave with the air con on and at night I let her sleep in my bedroom with the air con on because she would really suffer. We have units in our 3 bedrooms and my mancave but not the living room (My wife said it wasn't necessary in the living room- think she regrets that now).
