Disneyland ticket advice

We are booked to visit next year and the dates we will be at DCL are 26-29th August. The first day we will travel from Vegas so we will only have a few hours in the parks then 2 full days. Would you buy your tickets straight from the DCL website including max pass or buy elsewhere and play it by ear? I don’t want to feel like we have wasted money but on the other hand I am not sure we will ever visit again so want to get as much done as we can in the few days we have. Tickets from DCL with max pass included is currently about £145 more than buying from ATD without it but if we added it on to all 3 days while we were there then i guess the cost is the same.

I bought direct with Disney and included max pass.
If you keep checking they sometimes have deals on.
I think we got a deal for 4 day pass $49 a day plus $10 a day max pass ( Easter 2019)
The more days you add the better deal you got, I think the 3 day was $79 a day
We bought 8 weeks before we went.

I thought you could add max pass to any ticket. We bought the, from the Disney concession in the hotel as it was only one day pass

Buy direct and add max passes on the day if needed. Haven't ever needed them ourselves and got to do everything we wanted to do.

We bought our tickets from ATD and thought we'd add on max passes if we felt we needed them. Didn't use them on Saturday, planned on buying them yesterday and couldn't get the credit card to work so ended up without. Got everything we wanted (just missing a couple of small rides/shows) done easily in two days with some big breaks in the afternoon. So even if crowds are worse you should have no problem.

I can see how they would make things easier, but with our experience this week happy to spend money on other things instead. So I'd wait till the day to decide if I were you.

Have an amazing trip!
