Exactly the same for us. Really don’t want to drive. Definitely don’t want to go by helicopter. It will be a long day but know we would regret not visiting.

We did a day coach trip with the website Canyon Tours. We were picked up at our hotel, taken to the Sweet Tours offices where we boarded the coach with our included breakfast. We then went to the Hoover Dam, Route 66 and South Rim of the Grand Canyon where we had 3.5 hours. A packed lunch was also included. There was more than enough time to look around. The driver was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained on the journey both there and back. We were dropped off back at our hotel. It was worth every penny.

You can't go to the South rim by helicopter, it is too far. That is the smaller West rim.

Yes it’s a small aircraft flight up to the South Rim, this is what we did with Maverick.

I've done Driving to South Rim and Back in a day, Driving there and Staying over night (twice) and a one day coach trip.

I would not recommend driving there and back in a day if you are the only driver in your party.

Staying overnight and getting up for sunrise is possibly the greatest experience ever.

It was mighty cold, but so worth it.
