There's so much to see in Berlin, I'm sure you will have an amazing time.
As for tips I would put the Topography of Terror museum, the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust memorial, visiting the Reichstag (This is free but must be booked in advance) and the Berlin wall in the top 5 places to visit. But there really is so much to see. As you will have seen we enjoyed wandering around the parks and found it a very walkable city. The people were friendly and helpful and the food was pretty reasonably priced, much cheaper than London in my experience. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. I'm happy to help

Thanks Abby - I'm sure I'll have more questions nearer the time but it's great to hear it is a walkable city... Did you feel safe there at night too? We are going to be staying near the Berlin Mall so looks like there are a few attractions round there...
Will make sure we get to all those places! Guidebook arrived today so will try to familiarise myself with the city! |

Have fun with the guide book.
I didn't feel worried at night. We've done NYC, Boston..lots of other cities and much prefer walking around even at night. I suppose we stayed more on the main streets and didn't venture out into the suburbs, but it seemed really safe to me.

That's great to hear! Thank you Just saw you have a Disney trip planned for this Summer - so impressed you write all these trip reports. They are so helpful with planning and with getting a little Disney magic when not there myself - although reading what other people do has cost me a fortune with all the little extras I end up booking!

I love reading other people's trip reports, I'm really rather nosy and you are right it's great for picking up tips, but very costly sometimes!
