Connecting wireless headphones to tv

I bought hubby a pair of wireless headphones for his birthday but can't seem to pair them with the lg smart tv all I have managed to do is charge them up and turn them on do they automatically connect or do I have to do anything to the tv ?

You have to put the headphones in pairing mode and then do the same on the TV, selecting the headphones to pair.

Once paired they will connect automatically.

It says the headphones are ready for pairing but do I go Into settings or anything on the tv ?

This is fro the LG website...

With your TV powered on:

Select the Settings icon.

Select Advanced Settings.

From the Sound menu select Sound Out.

Select LG Sound Sync Bluetooth from the list, then select Detect.
