Mobile Your Pirates and Princesses stories...

I am so looking forward to seeing the Festival of Pirates and Princesses next week, it looks fantastic!

To get me even more in the mood I wondered if anyone had any stories, tips or general things to look out for during the shows/parade? Like where you prefer to stand, characters to look out for... anything really!

Hi Kady, we were there when it was princesses and pirate during May last year. Don’t miss Princesses or Pirates make your choice as that is the biggest show of the festival. If I remember correctly the pirates start their journey at the bottom of Mian street nearest to the entrance, so the reverse of the normal parade route. Whilst the Princesses start up near the castle stage where they do a show. Then it’s princess (hi-ho!) vs pirates (yo-ho!) in kind of a sing-off on staging in front of the castle. We were tipped off that near castle stage is good place, you get to watch the princesses close up and pirate pass by later. It’s not quite so close for the “sing-off” but you can see...so somewhere near the castle perhaps towards the side stage. Mickey escorted the Princesses there: Merida, Moana, Jasmine,Ariel, Aurora,Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, Belle, Tiana. Minnie joined the pirates - Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Smee and Jake. The princesses then continue along the normal parade route down Main Street and the pirates in the opposite direction round the side the castle past castle stage. The Princess parade show is much smaller and was just Princess Elena and Princess Sofia the 1st, but great to see them. Hoist the Flag, Mateys features Jack Sparrow. Have a great time.

If it's the same as last year they swap route each parade if the pirates are on main street the first one they will be on the castle stage for the second and vice versa tho i'm not sure who starts where. My tip would be to get in the middle bit in front of the castle where the 4 platforms are (you may need to do this on a different parade then one where u watch when they stop). Both the pirates and princess floats stop all round the circle and they get off and go onto the platforms. You can get some amazing pictures

We're currently at DLP and LOVING Pirates and Princesses! We have just about watched from every angle now. Just need to see Team Pirates arrive up Main Street! (Hopefully tomorrow!) You're right they take turns as to which way they come. It seems Pirates come up Main Street for the first performance and the 3rd performance each day and Princesses 2nd and 4th. Its amazing! The song is so catchy abd the whole thing just really well put together! Great interaction too.

We have just arrived home and we have all been singing the song non-stop for 4 days. I think the #teampirate show half way up Main Street was the best location for that bit. Yesterday we watched the battle in the hub right next to the Pirate plinth, then danced with the CM Raphael in the centre of the plaza - he is an absolute hoot!
We are all Team Pirate in our house!

We loved Team Pirates on Main Street too. The whole thing is just fantastic. We're still singing now we're home too, non-stop! The battle in the hub was fab! We were watching Raphael yesterday but DS wouldn't come and dance with me lol!
