Hi second time going for us this August from Hull. 1st time we got a train from Hull direct to King's Cross and then straight onto the eurostar, changing in lille for a TGV to Disney.

This year we are taking the train down to King's Cross but staying overnight at the Premier Inn around the corner (so MIL can see some sights in London). Next day we are getting the eurostar to Paris (£359 return for 3 adults and 2 kids) and then the local RER train from Paris to Disney (approx £55 return) approx 1 hour travel time.

This is compared to £1000 for the direct eurostar to Disney.

I did look into driving down to use the eurotunnel and staying at Davy crockett as this was £1000 cheaper than Hull trains/eurodtat/RER, but it's a whole lot of driving for a relaxing(ish) holiday.

I agree about LNER, I wouldn’t book to get me there on day of Eurostar we always got the train down the day before and booked a travel lodge next to the station for £50ish per night. I just wish easyJet would start flying to Paris again from Newcastle.
Ooh will keep that in mind, I thought £150 each return was good considering we'd pay that just for the train to London (we booked with 1 month notice) but the prices from Edinburgh sound a lot nicer for the sake of a couple of hours drive

Having said that, you can get the direct Eurostar for £72 return each, but you have to phone first thing on day of release (before they even show on the website) and they sell out in hours.
