Autism

Hi guys

I'm asking for my friend they are travelling to disney this year for the first time with their 2 children. Their son will be 6 years old but has severe autism is non verbal still in diapers etc. My question is do they receive some kind of pass that will allow them on rides and any kind of buggy for mobility. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Due to misuse the old GAC pass which uses to allow people to enter the ride almost immediately has been changed.
It now works similar to the fast pass system in that you go to a rude and get a return time.
You can hire pushchairs in disney which I think a yr old would fit in but they aren't the comfiest of things as they are hard plastic. Does he not have a SEN pushchair they can take with them? He will probably be happier.
I would request special assistance at both airports as well. Otherwise get him a sunflower lanyard which highlights to airport staff there is a hidden disability which might need attention

It's now called the Disability Access Service (DAS). You register for it at Guest Services in the Disney parks. If you have magic bands it can be programmed into those, otherwise a card is provided. It's a quick process, done on a tablet by a Disney CM. It's valid for 14 days, if you're staying longer you'd have to get it done again after 14 days.

When they return at the allocated time for each ride, they use the FP line.

If they are going to Universal, they also have a system, but it's slightly different and paper-based, but still works well enough. Again, you can get it from guest services just inside the park entrance.
