Our local cinema was fully booked until the day after Boxing Day, so we are going then. Really looking forward to it, the first one was my favourite childhood film. Many of the cast were on Graham Norton Show last night which was really enjoyable too.

Saw it this afternoon with DD, we both loved it.
Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda were both wonderful. In fact it is brilliantly cast throughout.

Have to admit we both cried a few times, it is just so magical.

DD and I are just back. Loved it, it’s beautifully detailed and the costumes are a delight. We’re going to watch the original on TV tomorrow and will try not to compare

Just in the way home from the cinema now. I cried so many times I have no make up left in my face 😭😭😭
It was practically perfect.

Just got back from seeing the film, I really enjoyed it and some lovely throwback touches, I thought a couple of the songs could have been stronger but that was a minor gripe.

Edited at 05:29 PM. Reason: Typo

As someone who adores the original I was a bit sceptical but it was wonderful. We age range from 14 to 79 and every single one of us loved it, boys and men included . I di t know of the songs will be classics but it was fabulous all the same .

I was so worried about this as I love the original so much but I needn't have been. It was wonderful. The story was so strong and I loved the songs and characters. I cried so much at the end due to all the throwbacks to the original. Just loved it
