There's a moose loose aboot this hoose!

It's leaving little presents by the kitchen bin. We left the door open a lot in the recent hot weather and don't know if it got in that way, or even how many there are.

The hygiene issue concerns me but so does the humane side.

Has anybody else had this problem and how did you deal with it? DIY or professional?
Any recommendations welcome.

Thankfully it's def not a rat otherwise the title would have been that other well known song "there's a rat in my kitchen what am I gonna do" 😁

We had a mouse once and just bought a humane trap from Amazon so we could get it without killing it. We also checked the kitchen walls for access and discovered that there was a gap around the waste water pipe exiting the house, so got a bit of foam filler around that and problem solved

My mum has one of those plug in sonic things that are supposed to drive mice away... She's had it for years and hasn't so much has had a fly or spider in her house.

You need to move out. Possibly burn the place down as well. There's no other option.

House burning definitely an option if dd19 doesn't stop screaming at every potential little rustle !

Cannot have a cat or DH will leave 😉

Will look for humane trap on Amazon and electronic zappy thing we have one to get rid of the dreaded cat menace from the garden and it works well.

Thank you all.

Humane traps are fine if you make sure the bait is pushed right to the back, unlike when we had a little mouse, who managed to get the bait and get back out, and must have fed its entire family. I was watching through the window!

Actually I wonder if the recent deterrent of the many cats from the garden has contributed to the arrival our current visitor?

Try to keep your food in a very safe place, remove the source of the food the mouse will leave

Try baiting the humane trap with peanut butter rather than cheese 👍
