JFK to Times Square - First Timer
hi, anyone got any recommendations for the best way to get from the airport to times square. Any reliable transfer providers would be greatly appreciated. First timer going end of this month

You can get a yellow cab from outside the airport, make sure you go to the official line and you will be directed to the correct size cab. It is a fixed fare $52 ( $70 once tips and tolls are added)
We chose to go on the airtrain and couldnt have been any easier. $5 each for airtrain and $2.75 for the subway. Took just over an hour from JFK to the hotel. Have a fantastic time. We loved our trip to New York ! |

We chose the airtrain too, was really easy and didn’t cost a lot of money either. As above it is $5 for the airtrain to Jamaica station, from there you can buy a subway pass or you can buy individual tickets. We got a week pass for $32 each.

We took the yellow cab option. I cant tell you how long it took as I spent the whole journey with my jaw on the floor and face pressed to the cab window! That first ever glimpse of the Manhattan skyline still seems un real. It was dusk and the lights were all on. Just like all the posters you've seen around for years... have an amazing time. Its on the list for a return visit for us!

Yellow cab is the easiest. Door to door and fixed price but air train and subway way cheaper

We've only been to NYC once and flew from MCO into La Guardia.
As others have said we found the yellow cab very easy and the zone pricing is displayed inside the back of the cab. We were staying in Midtown just south of Central Park and the cabbie asked us if we wanted to go through the park. A couple of miles further it seemed but he didn't charge more that the displayed fare. We probably rounded the tip up a bit though. Mick

Air train and subway is super easy. We have also used NYCExpressBus (formally known as NYCAirporter). They go from JFK direct to Times Square. Air conditioned, free WiFi, really easy to find as they just to the right as you exit into the main Arrivals hall.
