We always go in or around February - temp is 25-28, there's very little rain and it gets you away from the cold and wet in the UK.

We've been to a number of resorts:

Grenada - is our favourite. We really like the atmosphere here, the food and bars are excellent and the staff are really good. Its 10 minutes from the airport too. Lovely island to explore

Barbados and Barbados Royal - 2nd favourite. Both resorts are great and are next to each other so are effectively one. Huge white sandy beach, plenty of pools and 11 different restaurants. 20 mins from the airport. Barbados is great to drive round and explore too.

Jamaica has a number of Sandals. We aren't too keen to explore the island as there are some unpleasant areas but in the past we've done the tourist stuff There are 3 resorts we like - South Beach is a 90 minute drive fro the airport, Negril - 60 minutes and Royal Caribbean - 10 minutes

St Lucia - a really lovely island to explore. It has 3 resorts. Regency which looks great on paper but is built up and along a "bluff" so there is a hill to walk up and down - never stayed but visited, Halcyon which is small friendly and relaxed and the Grande which is our favourite and has great facilities. All are 90 minutes fro the airport along small winding roads - OR - take the 15 minute helicopter ride! You can dine at all 3 and use each resort - there's a shuttle bus for this.

Antigua - lovely resort and a very easy island to explore. Two parts built side by side - Caribbean and Mediterranean - both sides are lovely

Bahamas - the food here was really good but IMHO its a bit more of a "hotel" than a resort. But if you like that thing its great and Nassau has some great places to explore.

Hope this helps and please ask if you need anything else

WE are back to Grenada in Feb 2020

OOOooo thankyou for that it seems a few people have suggested some of them are more like 18 to 30 holidays with party games and music blaring out round the pool which is not our cup of tea

Its not ours either - there are always a number of pool choices. At Barbados there were two pools with music and some games through the day and 2 main pools that were quiet - in fact the South Seas pool was where we sat all week - pool bar, no music games or DJ. And then there are smaller pools all around the resort

In Grenada there are 2 main pools - now here we quite like being at the pool with the pool bar and music but its never been intrusive and the games are things like pool volleyball, music quiz, trivia, aquasize, pool Olympics - and its definitely not at 18-30 type holiday in any way shape or form. Bear in mind its not a cheap holiday and so younger people aren't always able to afford it.

We've always found the resorts we go to have an older crowd and never had a problem with rowdiness or noise. I think the Regency in St Lucia and the Jamaican resorts have a slightly younger crowd but it honestly wouldn't make a difference to us as there is always a choice of pools and the amount of background noise/music/games

Check out the maps on the web sites and you should be able to see the various pools - and of course there is always the beach!
