Drive in/Open air cinema
Family are keen to try a drive in movie when we are over there next month.
Does anyone know if there are any venues located in or around Disney and has anyone ever been to one of these ? If so, was it good and any hints/tips as to maximise the experience ?

Silver moon might fit the bill but it’s not right by Disney

Just checked and appears to be about 40 miles out from where we will be staying. Not sure I fancy an eighty mile round :-(
Guess there is nothing nearer than that fits the bill ?

i assume you don't have a car then?
if you do, make the trip to silvermoon, its ace! $5 per person for two movies, the food is dirt cheap too, so no need to take snacks with you, just get a pizza/hotdog/nachos there. silvermoondrivein |

Yes, will have a car - just reluctant to travel 80 miles round trip.
Albeit does sound pretty good, so maybe it will be worth it.

an 80 mile round trip is nothing - we do it regularly from champions gate (about 36 miles each way) - once youre on the i4, its about half an hour to the lakeland turnoff, and then another 10 mins drive from there.
seriously, we do it once or twice per visit! btw, the $5pp price is only if you want to watch both films on one screen. if you want to swap screens halfway through, you have to leave and pay again... but there's nothing stopping you just taking a blanket and walking over to the other screen. or everyone else going to get a snack while you drive round to the other side and pay $5 for just yourself to get in sinstead of everyone paying again |

Drive ins are fun but it can be hard to make it through the second movie. In general the better, newer movie is second.
