Nearest supermarket to Magic Kingdom

Hi

So our first full day will be in MK, we're thinking we'll leave around 2 (after being in at 8 for CP ADR) and head to a nearby supermarket for some bottled water and milk for the room. Looking on a map, there is a Publix at Lakeside Village Centre. Has anyone been here? Or is there a Walmart/Publix etc which is closer?

We were thinking of doing a grocery delivery with Instacart/Garden Grocer, but looking at costs, may be slightly cheaper to go somewhere by Uber/Lyft.

All advice welcome

Hi there are two Walmart big stores 10 mins away. Have a look on google maps and you will see which one suits you.

Where are you staying? It would be much easier to advise if I knew where you would be going after the shopping.

We're staying at POR. Our thinking is an Uber/Lyft from the Contemporary would save us having to take the bus back to POR then getting an Uber/Lyft when we get back.

You can buy large cartons of milk from the resort shop for $3-4. Water is available too, and will be more than Walmart, but probably not too much different by the time you've factored in a return Lyft/Uber trip. We're happy to get bottles of water with meals, use snack credits and make use of the free iced water in the parks, so have never needed to buy any. We get milk from the resort shop to use on the cereal we take with us.

Of course, you may want other stuff or just fancy visiting a supermarket. We did it on our first trip and decided that we weren't going to waste holiday time doing that again as it's just not for us

The one you mentioned is close to MK and POR. If you have any interest in visiting an outlet mall, the Publix at Regency Village is right next door to the Vineland outlets.

We got an Uber from the transport centre to the Walmart on Turkey Lake Road, I think it was about 10 dollars each way. The water which you pay $2 a bottle for on site at Disney was about $5 for 24 bottles. We also got some bits for breakfast and snacks for the room so I think we more than covered our Uber cost. Definitely worth doing.

We have also done this, but there is also a Target the other side of Disney (just off the 192) its nearer Animal Kingdom. Would really recommend going to Target at some point if you can! They have a better selection of clothes etc than Walmart.

Some suggestions on this thread on the same subject.

In fact, I do recall that there is a gas station/convenience store across the car park from Disney Springs, where we quite often picked up water, snacks etc. If picking up a slab of bottled water, could be worth taking a wheeled bag/suitcase to haul it back to your hotel via the Disney bus or boat.
