1 Night in NYC
Hey
So ive decided that i will stay the night in new york before heading to orlando as its cheaper than me staying in NYC for three nights. (I work upstate new york in the summer, and meeting mum in orlando on 24th august, but i finish work 21st august so gonna fly 22nd) however my flight is at 11:20 in JFK to orlando, i was thinking of getting a hotel near the airport but then i wouldn't know which one to get and ill be on my own, i feel safe in the city. i normally stay in Mayfair on 48th street, but do you think i should stay just in this hotel and leave early in the morning around 7:30 by the subway? does this make sense?

I guess it depends what time you’re getting to NYC. I would generally vote for staying in the city, but if you only get there late evening, you might want to just stay out near the airport and have a later start in the morning. The airport hotels are safe enough in my experience, but you’re kind of stuck in them.
If you’ll be in NYC by latest early evening, then nicer to stay in the city where you can go out. Don’t know the Mayfair, but the location is just round the corner from 50th Street station on 8th Ave, from which you can take the E train out to Sutphin Boulevard to connect with the AirTrain at Jamaica, so an easy journey to JFK, even at that time. |
