Beaches and Cream Closure - another angle

Hi Y'all,
We're staying at Beach Club in Oct-Nov and were going to try for B&C on our first night. Obviously that's not going to be possible now.
So we're looking for a table service option close to or at BC/YC.

The options seem to be the Ale and Compass, the Big River Grille and the Trattoria al Forno. I've dismissed the Flying Fish and Cape May Cafe as we have non seafoodies and the ESPN Club as the ladies don't want a sports bar.

Any experiences/recommendations?

What about one of the restaurants in World Showcase? I’m thinking first night we will do Hurricane Hannah’s - I know it’s QS but I think we will all be too tired to appreciate TS as we’ve got small children

Tbh we're not totally sure about TS either. Beaches and Cream was (if available) the perfect compromise. Had we been staying at AKL, the Mara would have been a no-brainer as it's so good, but there isn't a decent QS option at BC/YC. We did think walking into EPCOT isn't such a stupid idea... this will be discussed at the forthcoming family planning meeting (I don't mean family planning... !). Haven't ever been to Hurricane Hannah's!

It’s just had a menu revamp which could be good or bad.

I’m afraid my family live in a dictatorship as I do all the planning.

Nothing in the vicinity immediately springs to mind as a replacement to Beaches & Cream, certainly none of the ones you mention.

Are you looking to replicate their savoury or sweet offerings? We only had savoury at B&C, maybe Sci Fi dining would be an idea if you are after burger? I know there are nearby ice cream places if that is the main focus though but I have never taken much notice if the sweet stuff.

What about The Fountain at the Dolphin Resort. Only a few minutes walk from Yacht/Beach and a very similar menu (if not more extensive) to Beaches and Cream. We've eaten there many times and always enjoyed it

I should say, we're not necessarily trying to eat very similar food as B&C, just something good and relatively simple.

Try the bar menu at Ale & Compass. Nice.

I’m liking the enthusiasm for Ale & Compass!
