The reason I wouldn’t let the dog do it is because undoubtedly about three seconds before our meal was on the plate the dog would have been licking its nether regions till it was clean as a whistle!

My mum and dad let there dog do it and it proper puts me about. Don’t get me started on face licking 🤢

No we don’t, but I don’t really find it disgusting.
They get washed after. It’s no different to having a meal out and using plates, cups, cutlery etc that strangers have used before. The thought of that is worse than the thought of my dog licking our plates tbh.
The amount of times I’ve been served a glass of wine with lipstick marks on - eww 😷!
Some people are dirty compared to animals.

But you're going to wash the plate and it's ceramic no germs will stick to it.

I don’t see the problem it will be sterilised in the dishwasher, good job too as some of the humans in my house do some pretty nasty things before holding the cutlery plates and glasses 😉

I wouldn’t let my fiancé pick the plate up and lick it, so my Labrador isn’t allowed to either.
To be fair he does like to think he’s human (the dog that is) but I like him to have good manners around food times.
We do feed him a lot of human food though

I don’t mind this really. I’d much rather my cat lick the plate than some of the people I see waliking around my town!

Yep!

Every Sunday our cats get fish for dinner. I put it into their bowls then put the bowl I cook it in out for them.

On a daily basis they jump up on the table and swipe food off our plates! They get away with murder
