AVIS at Miami Int. Airport
Booked the BA flydrive with AVIS car hire at Miami, group F Ford Escape. I think its allocated to me rather than getting a choice, is that correct and what's the chances of an upgrade in October? TIA

We were allocated a vehicle at MIA and TPA when we booked a BA / Avis flydrive, although we have Avis preferred so went straight to the garage and not sure if that makes a difference.

we we're allocated a bay too but we are avis preferred same as above post. However I did go to the desk in the garage (not in the airport) and we were able to upgrade.

I was allocated a vehicle at Avis Miami last October, I got a free upgrade to a 7 seater suv

We booked a group B (Ford Focus or similar) last August through BA/Avis and because our flight arrived nearly an hour earlier our car wasn't ready so was upgraded to a Group G top spec Chevrolet Impala.

We’re prefered members and always go straight to the garage, last year they upgraded us to a suburban after we got to the bay and someone had taken the car we were allocated. This was August.

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned I've already signed up for preferred though this is my first time using AVIS. I normally use Alamo.

I do not know if you can do the same going to the box in the garage but you walk through the rental hall to go to the garage anyway.
