I, too, am hoping it doesn't close before our spring/easter visit. FP+ is still available for Spaceship Earth throughout April 2020, but I'm not sure whether that indicates a later closure or not?

This is what I was thinking/hoping. I'm sure Disney wouldn't allow people to make fp+ if they have to change it? Fingers crossed would love to do it one more time in 12 weeks..

I'm sure they initially said it would be 2019 but I think they got their fingers burnt with hollywood studios closing multiple areas so maybe a stay of execution for a while till other things progress.

It’s supposed to reopening for Epcot’s 40th Birthday.
After the printing press section the rest of it is getting removed and scenes build to bring the attraction up to date. It’s gonna take 18 to 24 months so can see it neither closing around Oct time or Jan 2021

Yeah, we're going May, and that's the approach I'm taking.

Other than a few club level members that want to purchase fast passes, it isn't possible to book throughout April yet. I am staying onsite last two weeks of April and my FP booking day is the 20th.

Unfortunately they do. I booked Primeval Whirl fastpasses for my September trip. Several weeks later I had a notification that my Primeval Whirl FP had been changed to Dinosaur, it didn't say why but then I saw that PW was closed for maintenance.

You're quite right; I meant throughout our visit - the first half of April.

Slightly different scenario, though. Spaceship Earth is planned and known about closure, Primeval Whirl was unplanned and I believe they had a couple of expected opening dates before they finally got it up and running as a "seasonal" attraction.
