Mobile United

So less than a week now and everything in place , packing has commenced and all on plan .

Hubby has announced today that our United flight doesn't have seat back entertainment 😮 I have read on line that the kids can still get entertainment on there iPads (me and hubby don't have one -( so not too bad altho I don't think there is charging point in economy . Any advice on what others have done . Kids are 8am and 13

I just thought all long haul would have the entertainment .

Thanx

I would have thought their long haul flights would have. We flew with delta a few years back and their flight from Edinburgh to Newark had it but not from Newark to Orlando.

I hope so but husband is convinced it hasn't . I don't mind the connecting flight not having anything as it's only a few hours but the main leg would be a pain especially with the 8 year old lol

Feeling hopeful

We are flying Thursday around 8 am ish via Washington there and back (from Heathrow) I believe we had a steal at £550 each
(adult ) & layover is 4hours . I really wanted direct but I had to pay for 4 of us and we saved so much . I have no option but to go in school holidays due to my job and my lad is at secondrary school .

We phoned united to book and they did it cheaper than what we had found on the internet . Also included Pre booking seats food and soft drinks . I had heard you get an alcoholic with your main but not 100 % on that .

Will definitely take pics and add it to this thred 👍

Iv never had that issue with united. Last time I flew edin-Newark-orlando and had entertainment on both flights, this was 2014.

I did fly back from Vegas this April with American Airlines via a BA code share and on both flights (Vegas-JFK-edin) didn't have any and was charged for food on first flight. I wasn't impressed, wasn't so bad on overnight flight to Edinburgh as I slept for a bit.

At least you've got the iPad for the kiddies.

We have flown numerous occasions with United when they went from Belfast to Newark and then onto MCO.

Always had seat back screens and a great IFE, only difference was the internal flight from Newark to MCO as you had to pay to use the IFE and for this you swipe a card they don't take cash on the flights.

Ah, thought maybe it would say if I did a dummy booking but it doesn't. I'm sure it will do. Thanks for pics etc. much appreciated. I hope you have a lovely time.

We flew with them a few year back and was a complete surprise that there was no IFE on the long haul part of the journey so you're right to be worried. Kids are set with ipads and perhaps you can relax with a good book.

where are you flying from, as it depends on what plane operates that route eg the Edinburgh route uses one of their most modern planes and does have very good IFE but some of the other routes use older planes which do not.

The information on what plan has it or not is found deep in the bowels of their website (took me ages to find it when we flew a few years ago with them)
