I booked for my lot to go - did diy to Rovaniemi and they visited the Santa Claus village aged 15 and 19 . Obviously they didn’t still believe but they say it was one of the best holidays they have ever done . For them it was the chance to experience things like snow mobiles and husky rides that made it special -they didn’t go in December but diy made it a much cheaper option .

When we went my eldest dd was 9 and starting not to believe but it was magical one of the best experiences we have had. We went to Saariselka so not very commercialised.

Would love to go again but got a Florida addiction.

Have a look at doing a DIY holiday easyjet and finnair do flights.

This was where we were looking too!
Ha that’s why we didn’t go this year because we booked Florida instead for May but going to save really hard for next December now!

No not at all. I’ve never taken my children but thinking of next year. They will be 12 and 9. When I was cabin crew I was lucky enough to go five times. It’s such a lovely experience never too old to go.

I hope you get to go we loved it we went with TUI. However have since looked at DIY to Levi and Saariselka but couldnt get time off work.

Good luck hope you get to go the whole atmosphere and place was truely magical.

I know a few people who go to Levi and book a ski trip and then book the excursions when they are there as it works out more economical

This might sound silly but when looking, there seem to be lots of different destinations. Do they all feed into the same ‘Santa Village’ and activities in a central location or are there lots of different (but similar) set-ups within Lapland? I’ve been thinking about doing this but have no idea which to choose!

We just got back before Christmas following 4 nights in Levi with a 7 year old and 13 year old. The oldest loved it just as much as the youngest. We booked through inghams and couldn’t fault them. We are seriously considering cancelling 2 weeks in Florida next year so we can go back for 5 days in December 🙈

Hi, just seen this thread so a bit late to comment sorry. Just wanted to add another vote for sariselka, amazing place and experience. The whole trip is awesome, much more than just FC, fab toboggan run on doorstep and non commercialised town. Highly recommend Santas Lapland great itineries and activities. We have been twice, once on 2 night early Dec and second time for a 3 night over New Year, fantastic Hx
