£25 for up to three items. You have to book it in advance and they take 2-4 weeks to come, and actually didn’t turn up for my SiL’s items on the day so rearranged for yet two weeks later 😡

We've never been charged for collections by the council here in Belfast. And we didnt in Newtownabbey or Ballycastle either.

My council states:

We can collect a maximum of five items such as a three-piece suite (which is classed as three items), carpets, chairs, beds and mattresses.
You pay £45 for three items and £10 for each extra item. TVs and fridges/freezers cost £45 each

Collection? We can only dream of such a thing! You have to get anything for disposal to the amenity site, or use a private business to do it for you.

Councils in NI are all different. Some charge and some don’t. Before the councils changed and in our previous house it was £10 per collection. When we’ve lived in a Belfast council area there has never been a charge
