I would recommend free tours by foot and the New York freestyle pass. Subway takes a bit of working out but is great for getting around the city. We found the HoHo too slow for our needs. Also TKTS booth to get discount Broadway tickets, well worth the wait.

Forgot to say try getting subway /waterbus to Brooklyn, have an explore around the bottom of the bridge or the heights depending on how you get there. Wander along towards Manhattan bridge by following the road under the brooklyn bridge. Then go through Dumbo and have pizza. Our fave is Front street pizza. Much better than the ones right by the bridge imho and a lot cheaper! Proper Brooklyn pizzeria less touristy. Head a couple of hundred yards up the road away from the river and the steps up onto the bridge walkway are on your right under the bridge overpass. Then walk the bridge back to Manhattan. Take bottle of water if midsummer !

Ice cream or something from wafel and dingus at the other end by city hall.

Much more iconic views walking that way round !

We’ve just come back, had 4 days in NY, 15 days touring and finished back in NY for 2 days. We bought a 4 visit City Pass which was on offer at Costco, walked most places 11+ miles a day, used the Subway and used Uber for the first time - so easy.

It took two full afternoons and a morning to see most of Central Park as it was HOT and our pace slow. Our highlights included a photography course taking pictures of iconic buildings; the Highline; walking the Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo; Empire State; Shake Shack lunch in Madison Gardens after seeing the Flat Iron; a night time trip on The Ride and the best of all a harbour trip on a clipper ship. We did TOTR but it as busy.

Hi ah you'll have a great time. We went last easter and mostly just enjoyed walking and seeing the sights. We found the Subway easy enough to navigate, live in London so used to the underground, so used this or our feet.

Not really a fan of the HoHo buses personally. We did the ESB and got crown tickets for SOL. We were the first people of the day and it really was awesome.

Its a great city for just mooching about and watching the world go by in the parks. Don't miss walking the Highline its great

We didn't do shopping as not really shoppers nor theatre as we thought can do this at home but we went to a basketball match which was cool.

Anyway am jealous would love to go back one day
