Booking a split stay for Oct/Nov 2019
I’m trying to convince the OH to go back next autumn as I’ll be 30 in August next year and I’m having severe withdrawals from being home. I normally don’t book holidays so far in advance and would usually book my flight first and then accommodation, so this is new to me.
I’ve priced up a week for the end of October staying on Disney property with the few sites that are available, but I can’t get any prices for anything outside the parks for the first week in November as it’s so far away. How do people go about doing this when you don’t know what the price would be? Also, how do you plan for flights? Again, I normally book them first and decide to go on the day the flights are cheaper, so I’m wondering what to do if I booked accommodation and then found the flights to be cheaper if we went two days before or after my selected dates? I normally like to go to the states for thanksgiving but have been thinking about this time for Oct/Nov as we could see the parks decorated for both Halloween and Christmas, and also I think food & wine is on in Epcot around then. Have I got this right? Apologies for the long post, I’m trying to get prepared to approach him on the subject 😂 thanks! P.S I feel like I’ve read before that this is a good time of year to go for weather, can someone confirm if I’m right? Edited at 12:43 PM. |

Hi, we did a split stay over oct nov and saw Halloween and Christmas decorations in disney.
I loved it as a time if year as still hot but not humid or too hot. We had one chilly morning but that was all. I booked the December before so got flights then hotel we split between all star sports / Fairfield inn LBV and cabana bay. I booked all star then shopped around for other hotels to fit our gap. There was loads of availability on expedia and booking.com so found things to fit with no issues. We are going next year and will be choosing Oct Nov again x

On your last point. Yes, the weather is usually lovely in October and early Nov. Very little rain and humidity. You’ll likely get some very warm (upper 20s, even hot (we had one day were it got to 35 in 2015). You’ll also likely get some cooler day (teens etc.) and maybe even get the odd cold day (it got to 9 during the day at one point for us in 2017). Evenings can be a little cooler than summer and you may need an extra layer.

That's what we are doing this year, going 29 Oct so we can do Halloween and Christmas parties! And food and wine!

We did first 2 weeks November last trip having done middle of October the one before and getting to see Christmas decs was wonderful! I'm sure others will also tell you that there is a thread on here with regard to booking Nov 2019 as Disney withdrew dates past September possibly linked to the opening of Star Wars land at DHS. October is now obviously back on sale but not sure if November availability has been fully released yet x

Oh, is there? I haven’t spotted it yet! I’ll need to take a look I’d love to be there for Star Wars opening but I think it’s just going to be too busy. I’d originally thought about going end of nov/start of dec in the hopes of tying that in, but I’ve convinced myself for this plan instead!
