These are nice. My daughter has these shorts. They have lots of similar ones in Primark too.

My DD is 13 and definitely has her ‘own’ way of dressing ! We are off to Dubai in a couple of weeks and we’ve had trauma over buying summer clothes ... my DD lives in black leggings/jeans and over sized black hoodies with trainers or DM boots ! None of this is suitable for over 40degree heat ! Lol ... and on top of this we needed a couple of dresses for the evening ! I’ve never known a girl to hate clothes shopping ... it’s such hard work !
My trick is to take my eldest DD with us who is 14 years older and she just picks things up and my youngest doesn’t argue with her and will reluctantly try things on ! Have you got someone (female) that could go with you who your DD will listen to ?
Good luck xx

OP my daughter sounds exactly like yours. Doesn't go out, small group of friends, no make up etc. However her clothes I feel are her small way of still fitting in with her peers so I give her free rein (within reason). I would pick your battles and try not to let it ruin your holiday, look at it this way we could have it far worse 😉

I agree with this, your DD sounds like a perfect teenager really compared to how I was anyway! The clothes she wants to wear should be what she feels good in and her choice.

My dd is 15, 16 in August and has just left school, she wears shorts and Bardot tops, cropped tops, playsuits, short skirts and converse. She has a short dress for prom, comes over her thighs and looks lovely with high heels. She is doing nothing worse than I did, she only goes out during the day with a small group of friends. Shes never had a boyfriend and is getting more and more into clothes. Whats wrong with shorts and a cropped bardot top? My dds tops arent that short just show a bit of skin, the clothes she has will be good for the summer and her holiday in Florida. Clothes are important at that age, her and her friends spend hours in New Look and H & M x

I have a 15 year old daughter and pretty much let her wear what she likes. The only thing i probably wouldn’t be happy with is too much cleavage or those shorts that you can see the bottom too much.

When I was 15 I was the same and wore whatever was the fashion of the time and I don’t ever remember my parents getting involved with them.

Ah, I think you have to let them find their way, their peer groups (and internet vlogs) seem to straighten them out...sometimes worst thing we can do as parents is to disprove!

Ours goes more daring for holidays - just fun outfits really...luckily it's not that warm in England!

Now, how do I get the boys out of trackies and long sleeve tops and hoodies all year round?! Jeans in Florida!
