We made the choice to get premium loungers as we are going the day after opening. It's our only date we could go as our tickets expire. It's going to be heaving, Universal hotel guests get early entry as well so was very concerned about how busy it will be when we get there. Loungers are in reserved areas and I'm sure there will be plenty of other areas available. All other water parks do this and have done for years but don't see complaints about that.

According to Orlando Informer there will not be many cabanas or premium seats available to rent, implying there will be much seating that you grab on the day (how true this will be when the park goes live is debatable though).
[can't post URLs yet otherwise I would link to the relevant page].

Plus, for me Florida trips are special and where possible I like to upgrade and enhance my experiences if they are available. Dessert parties, VIP parade viewing, cabanas - you name it, I'll pay for it. YOLO! 😜
Actually I read an article today that said the Cabanas booking also offers pre booking of ride times at all the slides as well. That's a nice thing to have.

My thoughts exactly! Paying for a cabana I understand, but for a lounger what next... Paying extra go on a water slide
